Singaporean design company Creativeans (link)’s “Adapt” series of table attachments is among the works of 24 other international young designers selected for the exhibition ‘Generation Design’ (link) to mark French ELLE Décoration magazine’s 25th anniversary.
The display is now on at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, till 30 September 2012.
“Adapt” table attachments are inspired by the bygone trades of Singapore past such as the fortune teller, key maker and the seamstress. A recognisable tool associated with each of their trades is transformed into a table attachment.
Said Sylvie de Chirée, editor-in-chief, ELLE Décoration: “This exhibition is an opportunity to express our brand’s philosophy, since its creation, of finding tomorrow’s successful designers and helping young talents.”
This international exposure comes hot on the heels of Creativeans’ participation at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile furniture fair in Milan, in April. The company was a former recipient of the DesignSingapore Council’s Overseas Promotion Partnership Programme (OPPP) (link) grant that helps local design firms participate in prestigious international design platforms to boost their international profile and create business opportunities.
