“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.”

National Vending Gallery presents its last topic: No. 6 Eat Read Use, a collection of 8 surprise box sets. Each box contains an edible, a visual book, and a useful product that are connected by a distinct narrative represented with a phrase.

All the items are produced by a brand, writer, artist or designer based in Singapore. There are new items featured, as well as favourites brought back from previous topics. The food item could be coffee, chocolate or kombucha. The visual book would be one that focuses on a particular point of interest such as leaf details, shadow play, early hawkers, print colours or hidden wildlife. The useful product ranges from a game, craft item, to household good.

Special thanks goes to TMS by STATE for contributing to the curation through the nomination of their makers.

Organised by DesignSingapore Council and supported by the National Design Centre.
