matali crasset, a French designer with an international reputation, tells about herself in the documentary “matali crasset, playful and political design”. She speaks about her origins, her early days working in Paris, her influences and her iconic objects that often erase the borders between design and contemporary art.

The documentary is by Rémy Batteault, and was produced by Cocottesminute in co-production with Centre Pompidou for the Influences collection, France 5. The documentary will be in French with English subtitles, followed by an hour of questions & answers which will be conducted in English in the presence of matali crasset.

Having previously worked in Singapore with Thomson Multimedia and then with the National Museum to "create one of Singapore's first art installations commissioned specifically for families with toddlers", named " Dynamic Lines of Our Nest", matali crasset impregnate her artwork in design with "Singapore's multicultural identity".

This documentary screening is one of the activities held alongside the "NO TASTE FOR BAD TASTE" exhibition that showcases the best of French design. The other activity is a talk by matali crasset and Singaporean designer Nathan Yong. View the details for the talk here.
