Raymond Woo set up his practice, Raymond Woo & Associates Architects Singapore, in 1971 with a S$30,000 loan from his parents.
Today, his achievements have shaped Singapore’s skyline with iconic buildings like the Science Centre Singapore, 78 Shenton Way, Ngee Ann City, Equity Plaza, Prudential Tower and in recent years 268 Orchard Road.
Beyond his work as an architect, Raymond Woo has played an active role in the development ofSingapore, serving as advisor and educator on numerous boards and institutions, including the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the School of Architecture at National University of Singapore, and the Design Panel for the Board of Architects. He also weighed in on design review and jury panels for notable developments such as The Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, National Art Gallery, Fullerton Square, Marina Barrage, The Pinnacle@Duxton and Tanjong Pagar Centre.
For his contribution to Singapore’s Architectural Landscape he was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2000, and the President*s Design Award 2016 - Designer of the Year.
