Launched in collaboration with Voilah! and Ubisoft, The Art Behind the Game – The Ubisoft experience is an exhibition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the world-renowned video game franchise, Assassin’s Creed.

 

The exhibition will allow visitors to dive into three intertwined stories - the history of French gaming company Ubisoft; the Assassin’s Creed saga, its rich historical setting and the contributions of the Singapore studio to the franchise; and for the first time in Singapore, visitors will also be able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the faces behind the game.

 

Visitors will also get the opportunity to learn more about the game creation process, the research behind it as well as the design of the characters, sound and music. They will also get to understand the importance of teamwork and camaraderie in the process of game development.

 

Exclusive workshops held at the National Design Centre, where art directors, designers and producers from Ubisoft will share about their work and passion:

Arnaud Vaudour 

 

Producer
Ubisoft Singapore

Arnaud Vaudour is a French video game Producer who has been working in the industry since 2003.

After having successfully produced multiple TV show adaptations with game publisher Mindscape, he started a line of original productions with Mad Monkey game studio.

In 2009, Arnaud produced the Sony PlayStation Portable version of Pixar's critically acclaimed animated movie, UP, for game developer and publisher THQ. In 2011, he joined Japanese game development studio Nubee as Production Director working on social games for mobile.

In early 2012, Arnaud joined Ubisoft Singapore as Producer on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and is currently working on an exciting, unannounced project.

 

Chris Early

Chris Early joined Ubisoft’s San Francisco office in February 2010 as vice president of digital publishing. Early spearheads Ubisoft’s digital publishing initiatives, where he oversees digital game commerce, operations and player engagement in North, South and Central America territories.

Hugues Ricour

 

 

Senior Producer
Ubisoft Singapore

Hailing from France, Hugues joined Ubisoft Singapore in 2009. Recent team achievements include the stunning Assassin's Creed III naval battles, bringing to life the naval pirate fantasy in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, exploring time anomalies in Assassin’s Creed Unity and conquering the Thames and the Tower of London in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

 

Prior to joining Ubisoft, Hugues was a Senior Producer at Electronic Arts and produced games for well-known franchises such as FIFA and Need for Speed.

Karl von der Luhe

 

Producer
Ubisoft Singapore

Karl joined Ubisoft Singapore as a Level Designer in January 2009, just as the studio began work on Assassin’s Creed 2.

Within the studio he has shipped Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Rogue in a variety of design and production roles.

Since 2014 he has been leading the Singapore production team on an unannounced exciting new project.

Mohamed Gambouz

 

Senior Art Director
Ubisoft Singapore

Born and raised in Morocco, Mohamed holds a BAC degree in Fine Arts from the Casablanca Technical School.

He was just seventeen years old when he joined Ubisoft Casablanca in 1998, where he made his debut as a Character Animator. Two years later, he worked as Artistic Director on Donald Duck: Quack Attack. Following this, he worked on Rayman 3, Beyond Good & Evil and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Mohamed relocated to Montreal in 2005 as a Senior Level Artist on Prince of Persia: the Two Thrones and Assassin's Creed. Following this, Mohamed served as Art Director on Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Unity.

In 2015, Mohamed moved to Ubisoft Singapore as a Senior Art Director and is currently working on an exciting AAA project. 

Mufizal Mokhtar

 

Senior Art Director
Ubisoft Singapore

Trained as a Sound Engineer, Mufizal’s art skills are purely self-taught. However, with ten years of experience as a game artist, he is well-versed in game art.

Mufizal has been part of the Assassin’s Creed family since Assassin’s Creed II. He joined the brand as a Senior Artist and gradually worked his way up to become a Senior Art Director.

Mufizal has collaborated with Ubisoft Art Directors internationally such as Raphael Lacoste and Mohamed Gambouz to create unified art visions for various games within the franchise.

In his spare time, he is also a passionate sculptor and teacher of the arts.

Paul Fu

 

Lead Designer
Ubisoft Singapore

Paul is a local Singaporean who has dreamt of being a game designer ever since his father bought him an Atari console. During the early days of his career, he dabbled in mobile games before moving on to LucasArts Singapore as a Game Designer on Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Jedi Alliance and Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes.

Paul began his Ubisoft journey in 2009 and has worked on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Rogue. He was one of the Game Designers working on naval navigation and missions in Assassin’s Cred III – some of the key features of the game.

Paul is currently working on an unannounced game, continuing his work on core systems and mission-related topics.
